‘Duronto Aatharo’ working in their Time Zone

Perhaps, ‘Duronto Aatharo’ is the most enthusiastic batch of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of CVASU. I have really got the feel of ‘Durontopona’ in each and every one of you, which have really kept the meaning of ‘Duronto’ vibrant. The amazing part is you were not only involved in the extra and co-curricular activities but also showed the excellence in your academic curricula. That is the perfect blend for any students of any given disciplines. I have found throughout my course that you are really open to embrace the new challenges and to offer the cent percent cooperation. That should be the ideal case what we expect from the students. I feel lucky that I have got such a nice starting in the very beginning of my university career. And I truly mean that.

Simultaneously, I have also sensed the huge potentiality and caliber lying with you all. But you also need to believe in those potentials and calibers to bring the very best out of it. I do believe all the ‘Duronta’ boys and girls will surely break the ground and bring their own dreams in reality. Just it is a matter of time and three key principles. Firstly, dream a dream which YOU dream. And you have to be really passionate about your dream. It means you won’t give up whatever the challenges come in front of you. It is very unlikely that life will be a bed of roses. Challenges and distractors will surely come to check your patience and you will need to overcome those obstacles if you really want to experience the dream in reality. Secondly, have a good plan where you consider the alternatives and contingencies. As we do not know the future, beforehand we need to be prepared for the bad things to come so that we will not be demoralized or frustrated at our bad times. Thirdly, do not compare your own status quo with others e.g. friends, seniors, juniors or even family or relatives, do compare you with yourself- what your skills and qualities were yesterday and what the improvements are today. This will lead you to be a better person with immense of mental happiness. You should always run after to be a better person every day not to be a ‘so-called’ successful person.

However, I am wrapping up my write-up with a short story collected (I am sorry I do not know the writer's name) from the internet titled “Work according to your Time Zone”. Kenya is two hours ahead of Nigeria, but it does not mean that Nigeria is slow, and it does not mean that Kenya is faster than Nigeria. Both countries are working based on their own ‘Time Zone’.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before securing a job, and there is another one who graduated at the age of 27 and secured employment just after the graduation.

Joyce Meyer started her own ministry at the age of 42 and still alive today at 74 years old.

Someone became CEO at the age of 25 and died at the age of 50 while another one became a CEO at the age of 50 and lived to 90 years.

Everyone worked based on their ‘Time Zone’. Maybe some people have everything that works fast for them. Colleagues, friends, associates, younger ones might “seem” to go ahead of you. Don’t envy them, it’s their ‘Time Zone’. Yours is coming soon. Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself. All things shall work together for your good. You’re not late, you’re on time! You are in your ‘Time Zone’.
