I am really excited to hear that the 24th batch of FVM at CVASU is nearing graduation. It is such fantastic news for me! I remember meeting some of you in my tutorial group back in 2019, and now, here you are, just a couple of months away from graduation. Time really does fly! I truly wish each of you a smooth and successful completion of this process. I would like to give you a message in this write-up. While getting an educational qualification is essential, it is not everything. We have hundreds of thousands of graduates, but we are still struggling as a society. Look around yourself! What hurtful things do you see? People do not respect each other. Sometimes, we do not behave appropriately. We show our arrogance, thinking we are the best among others. We do not try to listen to others. People are dying to make money in any way. They do not care if it is the right way or wrong way. They only want to gain money. Bangladeshi universities are concerned about implementing online teaching and assessment to combat epidemic situations though there is skepticism regarding online education. I would like to share some of my recent learnings during my master’s program in Australia. Understandably, the Australian context is quite dissimilar to our country but still, we can gather some gross insights that might provide us with some basic thoughts for online teaching and assessment strategies. প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক কারোই অজানা নয় যে, নিজের প্রয়োজনগুলো মিটিয়ে বেঁচে থাকার জন্য টাকা উপার্জন করা একটা খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়। একেকজন মানুষ একেকভাবে তার মেধা এবং অথবা শ্রম দিয়ে উপার্জন করে। কিন্তু সমস্যা হয় তখন যখন আমরা নিজেকে ভুলে গিয়ে নিজের সীমাবদ্ধতাকে এড়িয়ে আরেকজনকে পুরোপুরি অনুসরণ করি বা করতে চাই অথবা আরেকজনের/ সমাজের পছন্দকে প্রাধান্য দিতে গিয়ে সেই মতে কিছু করতে চাই। আমার ব্যক্তিগত পর্যবেক্ষণে, বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই এর পরিণতি হচ্ছে জীবন সম্পর্কে চরম হতাশা- যার কোন বাস্তবিক ইতিবাচক ফলাফল নেই। এর মানে এই নয় যে, আমরা কাউকে অনুসরণ করব না। আমরা অবশ্যয় আমাদের সাধ্যমত ভালো, যৌক্তিক, সঠিক, স্বচ্ছ, সৎ  এবং নৈতিকভাবে সমর্থনযোগ্য যেকোন ব্যক্তি/পথকে অনুসরণ করতে পারি এবং সেই একই নীতি অনুযায়ী নিজের পছন্দমত ক্যারিয়ারও গড়তে পারি। কিন্তু কোনভাবেই অযৌক্তিকভাবে আরোপিত পারিবারিক/সামাজিক চাপ নিয়ে অন্যের পছন্দমত ক্যারিয়ার গড়তে যাওয়ার চিন্তা করা উচিত না। এই কথার অর্থ এও নয় যে, আমরা পরিবারের দায়িত্ব নিতে অস্বীকৃতি জানাব।   "আমাদের সমাজ বিজ্ঞান" নাটকটি খুব সুন্দরভাবে পুরো বিষয়টি তুলে ধরেছে...

সম্প্রতি এক আত্মীয়ার কাছে শুনলাম প্রচণ্ড দুশ্চিন্তায় উনি এক রাতে জ্ঞান হারিয়ে নাকি হসপিটালে ভর্তি হন। কারণ জানতে চেয়ে শুনলাম পরের দিন তার সন্তানের পিএসসি পরীক্ষা শুরু হতে যাচ্ছিল তাই উনি দুশ্চিন্তায় উচ্চ রক্ত চাপের শিকার হয়ে জ্ঞান শূন্য হয়ে জান। ঘটনাটি শুনে আমার আরেক আত্মীয়া বলে উঠলেন, ‘ও কি এসএসসি পরীক্ষা দিতে যাচ্ছে যে কারণে ওকে এত দুশ্চিন্তা করতে হবে!!!’ ভাগ্য সহায় ছিল যে এই সব কথাবার্তা শুনে আমার জ্ঞান লোপ পাই নি সেদিন, তবে অন্যরকম দুশ্চিন্তা আমার মাথায় ভর করে যে কারণে আজকের এই লেখা। উপরের ঘটনাটি মোটেও বানিয়ে বলা নয়। এই ছোট্ট ঘটনাটি আমাদের সমাজের একটি বড় ব্যাধির খন্ড চিত্র মাত্র। আমাদের বর্তমান সমাজের বাবা-মা সন্তানের ভালো চেয়ে অনেক সময় তাদের সাংঘাতিক পরিমাণে ক্ষতির মুখে ফেলে দিচ্ছেন অজান্তেই। বিষয়টি আমি ব্যাখ্যা করে বলছি। আশা করছি মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়বেন। PC: Google Image বেশিরভাগ পরিবারেই লক্ষ্য করা যায় ছোট ছেলেমেয়েদের অনেক বেশি চাপ প্রয়োগ করা হচ্ছে পড়ালেখার জন্য। প্রায়শ দেখা যাই বাবা-মায়েরা নিজের ছেলে মেয়েকে অন্যের ছেলে-মেয়ের সাথে তুলনা করে যাচ্ছেন যা বাচ্চাদের উপর প্রচণ...

Those who are interested in post-graduation abroad should plan ahead of time. Remember, it might take at least 1 year to fully understand the whole process and then get the chance to have the admission. I would like to share my personal views on the steps for preparing for higher education abroad. Step 1. Determine your subject and what type of degree (Coursework or Research or a blend) you want to achieve with self-conviction. Step 2. Make a list of the countries where you want to study. Because depending on the country, admission requirements, funding sources, application and admission process and graduation time change. Perhaps one cannot realize how strong a relationship can be with an animal if he didn’t experience to keep a pet or didn’t see to raise a domestic animal. The bondage in no way is lesser than the human relationship which is particularly based on emotions. When a little kid communicates with us with its speechless cute smile and eye contact, we feel so good to receive the responses to our touch. We feel the heart touching emotions out of that very non-verbal communications. There is no give-and-take situation which signifies the innocence of love! Perhaps, ‘Duronto Aatharo’ is the most enthusiastic batch of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of CVASU. I have really got the feel of ‘Durontopona’ in each and every one of you, which have really kept the meaning of ‘Duronto’ vibrant. The amazing part is you were not only involved in the extra and co-curricular activities but also showed the excellence in your academic curricula. That is the perfect blend for any students of any given disciplines. I have found throughout my course that you are really open to embrace the new challenges and to offer the cent percent cooperation. That should be the ideal case what we expect from the students. I feel lucky that I have got such a nice starting in the very beginning of my university career. And I truly mean that. And one of the major aims of the education system is to develop human resources so that humans do not become a burden for a country. On one side there is a teacher who abused his female students, on the other side there is another teacher who was ill-treated by the leading members of the village. It is a matter of grave concern that such incidents are rising at an alarming rate. Lots of reports are there in newspapers where we see the parents killing their children, children killing their parents, and the spouse killing his /her partner and so on. These are the most sensational cases considering the nature of the relationships between the victims and the victimisers. Very recently we have been observing the very emergence of Young Gang Culture in the cities with its aggressive and destructive faces.
