Perhaps one cannot realize how strong a relationship can be with an animal if he didn’t experience to keep a pet or didn’t see to raise a domestic animal. The bondage in no way is lesser than the human relationship which is particularly based on emotions.
When a little kid communicates with us with its speechless cute smile and eye contact, we feel so good to receive the responses to our touch. We feel the heart touching emotions out of that very non-verbal communications. There is no give-and-take situation which signifies the innocence of love! The same situation emerges when you have a pet that can’t speak but respond gently, friendly and playfully. While you are at home, your pet follows you all the time. When it is the time to come back from the office or outside, he waits for you in front of the door as a family member does. They rush to you as soon as you enter the home to make you understand that he has missed you so much. Similarly, when the pet is out of your home, meantime you really feel the blank space because the sweet memories with your pet flashback so often and the unconditional love spills out of your heart to make you miss the deaf creature. Visibly, the pet apprehends you, your language, attitude, emotions and you also realize the same of him/her. This simple exchange produces an extra-ordinary human-animal relationship.

If you have anyone known who raises cows or goats, you might have seen the bondage between the family and the animals. This bondage becomes even more visible when at some point of time of financial crisis the owner has to sell it. The farewell reminds them months or maybe years of togetherness with lots of ups and downs. However, they exchange the rope and the money with the heavy tearful eyes and gloomy face. This is entirely an emotional human-animal relationship and no one can measure it in a monetary figure.
On the other hand, yes, of course, there is an economic relationship as well when you do business with the livestock. A cow in a dairy farm may cost more than two lakh taka or a flock in a poultry farm may cost thousands of taka. There might have the case that a loss of a single life can threaten the existence of the farm owner! Here comes the conditional love in the bracket of economic relationship!
Other than these, there is another relationship which is less visible to general people. From the very inception of the world, animals are silently playing a great role in maintaining the global ecological balance which makes the environment fit for us. Fewer earthworms will make the soil less fertile and thus less food for human; fewer tigers in the forest will enable the increase of herbivorous animals resulting into a decrease of forest plants and more environmental pollution, and the list will go on and on.
With all these notes in different aspects, we can draw a simple picture of an extraordinary animal-human relationship. No matter what kind of relationship it is, none of these relationships are deniable in today’s modern society. But the matter of regret is that the animals also fall in sickness but like human being, they cannot express their own ailment in words. They also have life-threatening diseases. Many of the beloved pets, domestic animals, farm animals and environmental friends may lose their lives leaving us in a complete misery if there is no one to take care of them. And in this connection, here comes the Veterinary Profession to play its vibrant and generous role to climb a newer height of that relationship by providing medical treatment and care to those innocent speechless adorable creatures. If no one can understand the language of the animal, a veterinary doctor does. He listens to them, realizes the unexpressed feelings of the animals and treats accordingly. Many a time he becomes the life-saving agent of the unspoken animals. Here comes the reverence for the veterinarians who deliberately choose such a challenging profession and globally these veterinarians are extremely admired for their outstanding contributions to the welfare of the animals. Because animals are not just animals, they are a significant part of human-being.
